Fess Parker TastingAN AWARD WINNING COLLECTION OF WINES
Exceptional vineyard sites and old world wine-making techniques form the foundation of our success.
Situated among 110 planted acres of estate vineyard on the beautiful Foxen Canyon Wine Trail, the Fess Parker Winery & Vineyard was established in 1989 and specializes in estate grown Syrah, Riesling, and Viognier as well as Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the Sta. Rita Hills and Santa Maria Valley AVA’s.

Fess Parker Ashley Chardonnay 2018
AROMAS: white peach, apple, pear, honey, vanilla, baking spices, touch of oak FLAVORS: pear, citrus, lemon cream, green apple, pastry crust, vanilla, baking spices
“… gorgeous. Bright, floral and lifted, the Ashley’s shows the more restrained side of the Sta. Rita Hills. White flowers, mint, orchard fruit, candied lemon peel, marzipan and light tropical accents give the Ashley’s unreal complexity and nuance. This mid-weight Chardonnay has so much going on. It is without question one of the finest wines I have tasted from Fess Parker.” Venous – 94pts.

Fess Parker Stanford & Benedict Pinot Noir 2018
AROMAS: strawberry, mint, floral FLAVORS: red plum, cranberry, raspberry, vanilla, cinnamon
“… understated and classy to the core. Freshly cut roses, red berry fruit, mint, vanilla and citrus all grace this beautiful, delineated, vibrant mid-weight Pinot. The Bien Nacido is built more on aromatics and persistence than anything else, and is naturally less overt than the Sta. Rita Hills Pinots.” Venous – 93 points.

Fess Parker Older Barrels Pinot Noir 2018
AROMAS: red cherry, raspberry, red plum, cola, baking spices, forest floor, vanilla, cigar box FLAVORS: Bing cherry, red currant, black plum, baker’s chocolate, vanilla, grilled sage, nutmeg
“The 2018 Pinot Noir Older Barrels is a selection from Ashley’s aged in neutral oak. Plump and juicy, the 2018 offers striking immediacy and tons of sheer appeal. Dark cherry, plum, lavender, rose petal, spice and licorice build as this sumptuous, forward Pinot shows of its considerable charms.” Venous – 94 points.

Fess Parker Bien Nacido Vineyard Pinot Noir 2018
AROMAS: plump wild berries, pencil lead and juniper FLAVORS:  lavender, elderberry, elderflower, cranberry essence and a touch of black tea
“… from a great site on the southern side of the Sta. Rita Hills … Plum/ruby-hued, with notes of Bing cherries, candied violets, spice, and sappy herbs, it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a tight, vibrant texture, nicely integrated acidity, and a great finish. It should evolve for a decade.” Jen Dunnuck – 93 points.

Fess Parker Santa Barbara Syrah 2018
AROMAS: blackberry, blueberry, red plum, smoke, dried tobacco, anise, white pepper, black cherry FLAVORS: black cherry, plum, blackberry, dried herbs, dark chocolate, smoked meat
“Dark aromas of smoked and roasted black fruit and meat meet even more savory tones of teriyaki and pepper on the nose of this bottling. There’s firm tension to the sip, where the rich mouthfeel carries smoky oak, vanilla and caramel flavors, with lingering mint on the finish.” Wine Enthusiast – 91 points.

2020 Viognier, Amador County | Karmere Vineyards
This wine benefits from fermentation in a concrete egg. Look
for a slight lemon meringue pie nose. The result of the concrete
fermentation is an almost creamy texture with nice minerality. There are light floral notes mid-palate and a big mouth feel. The wine is soft and juicy with a lovely, long finish.

2017 1646 Red Blend, Amador County
Named for the elevation of our estate wine cave in Amador County,
1646 is a barrel selection of Barbera, Zinfandel, Primitivo and Petite
Sirah. Dark stone fruit, holiday spice, and bright cherry develop into a smooth finish with a full-bodied mouthfeel.

2018 Amador Barbera, Amador County
The nose opens with hints of ripe plums and dark cherries and a light touch of oak. The purple-black color with nice weight in the glass makes it a swirlers delight. The taste is silky and fresh with flavors developing all along the palate. The finish is long and develops slowly into a big juicy finale.

2018 Amador Zinfandel, Amador County
The dark purple color and the lightly spicy nose lead to a wonderful palate of flavors of anise and dark fruit. As the wine opens, flavors of chocolate and vanilla are present with a bouquet of sweet cherries and ripe plums. The finish is long and flavorful.

2016 Estate Zinfandel, Amador County
93 Points | Editor’s Choice – Wine Enthusiast
Dark cherry presents itself along with hints of raspberry and tobacco. It has a lovely tartness—just enough to perk up your taste buds. The barreling allows slight toasted oak fl avors and soft tannins. The mouthfeel is silky and supple, leading to a long and satisfying finish.
